The ghost of video games past
Bye, Nokia.
If someone don’t know. I’m from Finland. So is Nokia. It has been quite journey to follow from a side how big company plumbers like brick in the water.
My first phone was Nokia, so did second and third… I don’t even remember all my Nokia phones. About 2 years ago I bought my first non Nokia phone. Mainly because there was no way for making money in the software development area and there was simply no good phones. So I bought HTC Dream aka. T-Mobile G1. At the same time I started my own company and aimed for Android and iPhone development.
About year ago I was in the the conferes where I first time saw this Windows 7 Mobile in action. I even did get Visual Studio Pro for free. I sold it. No tnx.
Now I see this big loved company joining ‘forces’ with this deserted phone OS. I’m like ‘WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING???’. Nokia was in the bottom yes, now it is below the scale.
I can see only three way this can proceed:
1. Microsoft buys Nokia.
2. Microsoft suck all the money out from Nokia and then throw it away.
3. Stockholders kick current lead away and reverse all the sh*t what is contracted in last 4 years.
My bets are in the option 2. Bye, Nokia.
